Bismarck, North Dakota – Dr. Gabe Dahl, assistant principal at Grand Forks Central High School, Fargo, has been named the North Dakota Assistant Principal of the Year by the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals (NDASSP). Now designated a state winner by NDASSP, Dahl is eligible in consideration to be the 2023 NASSP National Assistant Principal of the Year.
Gabe Dahl is currently in his 22nd year of education, serving the last 11 as an associate principal at Grand Forks Central High School where he is blessed to be a member of a wonderful team. He started his educational career at Red River High school where he taught economics and global education prior to becoming the activities director.
He resides in Grand Forks with his beautiful wife Stacey and two children, Thomas and Charlie who are extremely active and keep him young. He graduated from ROCORI High School in 1996, attended the University of North Dakota where he played baseball and earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education and social sciences. He went on to earn a master’s degree and doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of North Dakota.
He’s grateful for each of his mentors, coaches, and family along this journey, including in a special way his mother and father, Peggy and Kirby, who instilled in him the value of hard work.

NASSP’s mission is to promote excellence in school leadership.
