
Section One: The name of this association shall be the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators’ Association.
Section One: The purpose of the association shall be:
· To promote high standards of achievement and ethics in interscholastic and extra-curricular activity.
· To promote better public relations and sportsmanship between schools.
· To provide for an exchange of ideas and a better understanding of the administration of high school activities, good will and fellowship among the Athletic Administrators of the State.
· To promote the professional growth and image of interscholastic athletic administrators.
· To cooperate with and promote all functions of the NIAAA, North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders (NDCEL), North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA), and the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA).
· To serve in an advisory capacity to the NIAAA, NDCEL, NDHSAA, and NDHSCA.
Section One: Active Member: Membership is available to an individual who has responsibility for directing, coordinating, or supervising the interscholastic athletic program in a North Dakota accredited school.
Section Two: Retired Member: Membership is available to an individual who has retired from education and administration of athletics and has been a former Active Member of the NDIAAA.
A Board of Directors, which shall be comprised of five officers, six Regional representatives, three professional organization representatives, and the Executive Director shall govern the NDIAAA:
Section One: Officers (A): The officers of this association shall be president, first vice-president, second vice-president and past president. The elected terms are for one year beginning after the spring state conference.
These officers will progress from second vice-president to first vice-president to president to past president. Every year a new second vice-president will be elected by the general membership of the NDIAAA. Nominations and election for the second vice-president position will take place at the spring meeting.
Officers (B): The officers of this association will also include the Secretary. The elected term is for four years beginning after the spring state conference.
Officers (C): The Executive Director will be an ex-officio position which is appointed by the Board of Directors.
The Executive Committee will be comprised of the six officers of the NDIAAA.
Section Two: Representatives (A): A representative of the NDIAAA shall serve on the Board of Directors of the NDCEL. The elected term will be three years, with a maximum of two terms.
Representatives (B): A representative of the NDIAAA shall serve
on the Board of Directors of the NDHSAA. The elected term will be four years.
Representatives (C): A representative of the NDIAAA shall serve as liaison for the NIAAA. The term will be an annual appointment by the Board of Directors.
Representatives (D): The six regional representatives shall be as listed: Class “B” (4 representatives) NW, NE, SW, and SE as defined by the NDHSAA. Class “A” (2 representatives) West and East as defined by the NDHSAA. The terms for all representatives will be two years. Election for Class “B” SE and NW and Class “A” East will be odd numbered years. Election for Class “B” SW and NE and Class “A” West will be in the even numbered years. Regional representatives will assume their annual responsibilities in September of the year they are elected.
If any office is vacated, the Executive Committee shall appoint a person to fill out the term of said executive officer or representative.
Committee Chair-Person appointments shall be made at the April meeting of the Board of
Directors.

Section Three: Leadership Training Coordinator
Section Four: Annual Fall Workshop Coordinator
Section Five: Publication/Communications Coordinator
Section Six: Other -- The Board of Directors may appoint additional committees as needed.
Section One: A minimum of two general membership meetings will be held each year. The first will be the annual Fall Workshop and the second will be the annual Spring State Conference.
Section Two: The President with approval of the Executive Committee will schedule any meeting of the Board of Directors.
Section Three: The President when deemed necessary will schedule executive Committee meetings.
Section One: The NDIAAA will have annual membership dues. They will be payable on or before the date of the annual Fall Workshop.
