2004-2005 NDASSP GOALS & OBJECTIVES

These goals and objectives are all designed to serve the students of North Dakota either directly or indirectly..
GOAL 1: Continuous professional training will be provided and/or available for all members.
    OBJECTIVE RESPONSIBLE PARTY
  Continue Fall, Summer and Winter Conferences. Board of Directors
  Stress the importance of membership in NDASSP, NASSP, and constituent associations along with the negotiating of dues and funds for attending LEAD programs. Past President

  Regional Meetings. Regional Directors share information with other Regions using the NDASSP website and ndcel.org listserv.

  Monitor credentialing standards set as proposed by NDCEL. Executive Director
  New administrators' breakfast at Winter Conferences. State Coordinator, President

GOAL 2: Be active legislatively.

    OBJECTIVE RESPONSIBLE PARTY
  Representative Assembly during legislative year. Executive Director
  Listserve, e-mail and web page. Regional Directors, Executive Director
  Testimony from Executive Director or designee and NDASSP members. Executive Director
  Continue support for electronic publication of Legislative Beacon. Executive Director and staff

GOAL 3: Promotion of Principalship/Principal

    OBJECTIVE RESPONSIBLE PARTY
  As an educational leader:  
    - Continue Aspiring Administrators’ Conference Executive Director/ND LEAD Center
    - News releases to local papers on issues within the school. Individual Principals
    - Develop position statements regarding a variety of issues that affect the principalship. Board of Directors
    - Develop a position statement regarding the salary for North Dakota’s secondary principals. Study Committee appointed and chaired by the president
  Through a positive image:  
    - Encourage others to become involved in NDASSP and other constituent association activities. Board of Directors and individual members
 
    - Be politically active in the community. Individual members
    - Encourage quality educators to consider principalship. All members, LEAD, higher ed
GOALS 4: Promotion of Programs
    OBJECTIVE RESPONSIBLE PARTY
  Continue to promote Academic Contests:  
    - Publish notice in Umbrella and put on agenda for October. Regional Directors and Individual Members

    - Continue support of these activities at regional level.  
    - Publish academic all-state in the Umbrella.  
    - Pursue the development of a state Acalympic Competition.  
  Continue to promote Student Council, National Honor Society, Close-Up, and Spelling Bee: Student Council/National Honor Society Standing Committee Member
    - Agenda item at Fall and Winter Conference.  
  Continue to promote NDHSAA: NDHSAA/Contest and Awards Standing Committee Members
    - Continue to work with NDHSAA to promote academic all state team and academic programs.  
    - Encourage on-line application for Academic All-State  

GOAL 5: Promote and explore the use of technologies in educational leadership.

    OBJECTIVE RESPONSIBLE PARTY
  Support training and use of technology by the NDCEL and affiliated organizations. Board of Directors
  Support increased funding from legislature for technology use in the public schools. Board of Directors
  Promote, support and expand the use of the Internet by NDASSP members. Board of Directors, Past President
GOAL 6: Promote NASSP and NDASSP as resources of educational information, leadership, and training.
