History |
| The concept of a
professional organization for school secretaries was first
discussed in 1991 by the Board of Directors of the North Dakota
Council of Educational Leaders and subsequently became a part of
their goals and objectives plan. |
| One of the first
steps was to contact school secretaries to see if there was an
interest in such an organization. After contacting several school
secretaries, it became clear there was a need for a professional
association. Therefore, a planning committee was established and
met for the first time on March 10, 1992. The Committee developed
a constitution and by-laws which were adopted by the NDCEL Board
of Directors in June 1992 and by the members of ESAND in August
1992. |
| Four regional
meetings were held around the state in May 1992 to inform school
secretaries about ESAND. Over one hundred people attended these
meetings. |
